NIBE (prounounced NeeBuh!), established in 1952 are Scandinavia’s biggest manufacturer of domestic heating products and the largest manufacturer of heat pumps in Europe. They supply homes and businesses with products that provide domestic hot water and ensure a comfortable indoor climate. They are, as they say, 'A World Class Company' to deal with.
Geothermal heat pumps
Ground Source Heat Pumps use the soil or groundwater as the heat source. Your energy costs for heating will be lowered by up to 80% with the use of NIBE geothermal heat pumps over traditional heating such as oil or gas.
There is also the possibility of free cooling with NIBEs geothermal heat pumps.

Air/water heat pumps
Converts the energy of the outside air into heat and creates a comfortable temperature inside the house. Installation of a NIBE air/water heat pump can lead to your energy consumption for heating being reduced by up to 70%, in comparison to conventional heating systems.
Usually it is necessary to have a secondary source of heat in tandem with an air to water heatpump which may be oil , gas or electric to cover short periods of extreme cold weather - the heatpump will still function right down to -20°, but of course at low temperatures its output is reduced.
You should choose a NIBE air/water heat pump if is not possible to drill in a ground probe or install a surface absorber on the property.

Exhaust air heat pumps
Controlled domestic ventilation with heat recovery reuses the energy from the exhaust air. Not only that, the additional heat generated internally from lighting, people and domestic appliances is also utilised through heat recovery. (This type of heatpump is only to be used in low energy buildings where ventilation is a must.)
The mechanical ventilation means totally hygienic inside air and is a basic requirement for living in a healthy house.
